Colombian Exposition, 1893 folder
Farm manager George Aitken and the Billings family attended the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition, also known as the Chicago World's Fair. Organized to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Columbus's arrival in the New World, the Fair attracted more than 25 million visitors over six months. Highlights included grand neo-classical exhibition halls, the debut of the world's first Ferris Wheel, and displays of the era's most remarkable achievements in technology, art, and agriculture. Billings Farm received national acclaim, earning top awards for its Jersey herd.
